Over 90% of students in grades 6-12 play an organized sport at the Academy, and our student-athletes strive for excellence in competition with the same enthusiasm they bring to the classroom. In addition to physical training and winning championships, Colt athletes gain much more through their participation in athletics: self-discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and integrity.
ATHLETICS/ACTIVITIES CALENDAR
We have an extraordinary team of dedicated coaches, and because the Academy is part of Hillsdale College, our athletes have access to NCAA Division II training facilities.

Training for Life
At the Academy, athletic training is about self-discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and integrity.
Excellence in Everything
Our students strive for excellence in competition with the same enthusiasm they bring to the classroom.
Hillsdale Academy offers a variety of activities and clubs outside the classroom that help our students grow socially, spiritually, and intellectually.
Every year, high school students elect a Student Council that coordinates campus social activities.
Students help others through D.O.G.S. (Doers of Good Service) and the High School Service Club.
Students in the upper school who qualify may join the National Honor Society or Quiz Bowl team. Since 2004, the Quiz Bowl team has finished in the top three among small schools at the state championship four times, including first-place finishes in 2012, 2013 and 2024. We also have a Finance Club and a Chess Club.
Students in 7th and 8th grades can join the National History Day Club.
